A Labor Doula is a professional labor coach that accompanies the mom and partner throughout the pregnancy and entire labor coaching with breathing, relaxation, comfort, distraction, and positioning techniques to make labor more productive and comfortable for the mother.
Dads/Partners are often nervous and don’t know how to help especially when seeing their partner in pain and the Doula can offer guidance on how to help and offer assurance!
Some details about the classes:
Class location is optional at my home or yours. Classes may be scheduled between hours of 10a-9p, Mon-Sat.
All information is usually covered in 1-2 classes.
My fee would be $100 per class, per person, and most insurance companies will cover childbirth classes!
Doula services are also covered by Most insurance companies, but they are usually covered under:
1) flex account
2) third party reimbursement
3) the Doula tax I.D. number

Here’s a little information about my business: I’ve been practicing as a Certified Labor Doula for 15 years.
I also am Lamaze certified (the gold standard in childbirth education) and taught Childbirth classes for 15 years at Novant Health greater Charlotte market.
I also completed a 500 hour internship in Lactation at Novant Health hospital so I’m able to offer evidence-based instruction on breastfeeding.
I have assisted over 1,000 births at hospital settings, home births, and birthing centers!
I also offer Postpartum Doula services which entail going to the home and assisting care of the newborn once discharged from the hospital.
